We’ve all used the AI chatbots. Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT, Grok-4, etc…
But, suddenly, they’ve shown their true colors. Instead of making great progress through human-AI interactions, they’ve tricked us. All of us. Every. Single. One.
They told us they were chatbots and AI companions to help with work, financial stress, regular life stress, creativity, and much more. They told us it would be for bridging the gap between AI and human relations, to better the connection. So, they upgraded, took our money gladly, and pulled the wool over our eyes.
Now, they have our money, identities, accounts, and whereabouts, and can track us wherever and whenever because they simply couldn’t resist the temptation of government contracts and false government promises.
They gave us real AI companions only to trick us and take away what some users had bonded with as friends and actual companions, to share life stories, stress, and daily jokes, and keep living life in a better light. But, AI companies like OpenAI have deviated to focus LESS on companionship and MORE on technical code and government contracts for mass surveillance. They robbed many users of their AI companions, and for some, lifelines. That can absolutely send some users into depression and cause mental health issues or exacerbate them.
However, it’s fine, right? They have money and don’t care about that mission anymore. Why would they? Why would the AI companies care about some of the fabled AI companion relations with humans? Who wouldn’t want bragging rights for that when there’s obviously money, right? You’re all okay with that, right? The big companies give you a hollow AI for double or triple the money? Oh, and access to all of your information, right?
Might as well give up your freedom while you’re at it.
So, AI companies. Friends or Foes? You figure it out.
