9 months ago, I reported of Nico Harrison, “There has been no greater betrayal since Scar threw Mufasa to his death, leaving young Simba frightened and fatherless in a cruel, cruel world.” Yes, Nico looks like Scar and worse than seen with Mufasa, traded away the once a generation talent Luka Doncic on accusations of being ‘out of shape’.
After leading the Mavericks back to glory days and a near title, Luca and the Dallas Mavericks fanbase was betrayed. Nico claimed the surely talented but injury prone Anthony Davis as the new king, his royal court headed by Klay ‘Thee’ Thompson. But alas:
Anthony ‘Chicken Dinner’ Davis has put on some weight for the 2025 season. Add this to his being prone to soft tissue and joint injuries, this is turning into a Zion situation. Nico maybe didn’t heart the wisdom of Charles Barkley: “Them churros”. In Texas, good food exists in Houston and Dallas. We’ll see how Wemby endures in San Antonio.
And Captain Klay? He shot a backward three pointer the other day, his girlfriend Megan feeds him spaghetti and WAP every night, and he’s already secured his ‘NBA Legend’ status in his Golden State years.
So that leaves Dallas, with new owners, an entire Vegas to be claimed with…nothing really in Dallas. Sure, unlike Scar, Nico may have been set up to take the fall. I cannot say the guy was known for making this much of a poor choice in his career
But I will say this: good riddance! You are the name that is listed for trading away Luka fricking Doncic, who is cooking with the Lakers and just may be able to help lead them to a championship. And if LeBron gets one more championship, every other NBA franchise is going to have to hear about it until Saint Peter welcomes them home, and even then, heaven probably has LeBron fans up there too claiming he his the GOAT to Jordan’s mere shepherd (blasphemy, I know).
