Local Black Woman Shocked to Find ‘Aldis’ Is Actually Named Aldi

St. Louis, Missouri – A local woman is still reportedly being treated for shock at a hospital after learning that her beloved ‘Stock-up’ store Aldis is actually named Aldi.

Dorothea Brown-Jackson, aged 43, said the shopping trip started just like any other. “Well, school is coming up and I wanted to go get my babies their snacks and such for their lunch boxes next week. I told my oldest I was headed to Aldis to get them some supplies, and he best have that kitchen cleaned for the groceries when I get back.”

Brown-Jackson reports she then went to her car so she could get to the store. Her neighbor, Mary June, was standing outside and said ‘Hi, how is your day.’ That’s when fate all changed for the mother of three.

“I told Mary June that I was going to shop at Aldis. Mary June smiled and said, ‘Oh, that Aldi has the best deals in the Aisle of Shame. Have you ever caw cawed?” Before she knew it, her neighbor hopped in her car and they were off to Aldi.

“Well, we drove up to the store and I told my neighbor Aldis was my favorite. She looked at me, confused, and asked if the town had a new Aldi, you know, if there was more than one.” Brown-Jackson, confused, shook her head no as she pulled into the parking lot and pulled her “Aldis Quarter” for the basket from her console.

“My neighbor said, ‘No’, but you keep putting an ‘S’ on the end of it, as if someone owns it or there is more than one.” That is when it happened. Mary June pointed to the sign, noting that the sign clearly said ‘Aldi’.

Paramedics were called to the scene and left without incident after Brown-Jackson came to. “All these years, I mean for decades, generations of my family have called this store Aldis. I think they call it the Mandela Effect.”
